As I had warned previously, I was out of touch — out in the California desert at the National Training Center — for the last three weeks of April and the first week of May. As a result, I not only didn’t get to comment on the remix done for me, I wasn’t able to follow anything else taking place in the archive. I’m now doing a long, frantic scramble to catch up, following various persons’ recs.

Quick points.

First, as can now be seen, the remix I did was “Hungry Like the Wolf”, for [livejournal.com profile] sunnyd_lite. The writing of it gave me considerable pleasure, and — for those who may have read it already — I spent my time away editing and revising it, which revisions have now been posted, offering what I hope are several improvements.

Second, the work done for me was “Rumination”, by froxyn, a remix of the “Voices in the Dark” segment from Giles’ perspective. This author is a staunch Buffy/Giles ’shipper, and a close reading can find hints of such a view, but it isn’t imposed. No epic, it’s still worth a look.

Finally, the redoubtable [livejournal.com profile] sroni did two remixes: one for RemixRedux itself — “When the Promise Breaks (The Seasons of Love Remix)” — and “Light in the Darkness (Wish I Were a Hero Remix)” for Remix Madness 2011. I may be prejudiced, on account of her being my daughter, but I believe her writing is beginning to show serious quality.

And that’s all for now. I have many things to catch up on.
