Oh, wonderful

 
The population of my current home city is just over 60,000. For reasons I’ve never learned, it has an appreciable number of people from the Marshall Islands.

There are now, among the Marshallese here, nine confirmed cases of Hansen’s disease.

I’ve dealt with all kinds of things in my life, many of them complications of my own making, but who would have ever thought I’d need to feel any concern about leprosy?

PS: Last night my new (and formerly ex-) wife wanted to dig out and watch my DVD of Mr and Mrs Smith. Should I worry?
