I’ll be going out to the movies tonight, because I just don’t want to deal with the hassle of being at home to deal with trick-or-treaters.
If this makes me sound like a Hallowe’en spoilsport, consider this: how many people want their kids knocking at the door of a middle-aged man who lives alone?
I’ll do some more work on “God Save the Queen” after I finish this post, and tonight I’ll set the alarm for early so I can leap into NaNoWriMo work. It struck me that this would be a good opportunity to try out what I’ve been saying I wanted to do: compose entirely on laptop, see if I can teach myself to do that as readily as I can in longhand. On one side of the equation, I like having something I know works; on the other, if I could do the same thing via keyboard, only more quickly and easily, well, also good.
Coming up on a drill weekend. I considered starting my NaNoWriMo work a couple of days early, then using the output to substitute for the days I’ll be busy with my unit … but, really, who doesn’t have other obligations they have to deal with during the month of November? I’ll play it fair, and see how things go.
Out for now.
