I enjoy ferreting out — or creating — unexpected attributes in characters generally depicted as unsympathetic. (As witness my double coverage of Quentin Travers and Tara’s father in “the Still, Small Voice”.) I’m also a believer in large events sometimes turning on minor or even unknown details.
