As we near the end of the year

Been a while since I posted. Mostly, it’s because I had my attention elsewhere. Some of it was because I doubted that the minutiae of my life was of any particular interest to other folks.

Here I am, though.

My one-month checkup with the retina specialists showed that the macular hole (the one for which the vitrectomy was performed on my right eye) hadn’t been closing to the extent desired. My own feeling was that I could live with it as long as it didn’t get any worse; problem was, there was no guarantee that would be the case. Follow-up checks showed that it still hadn’t closed, and I reluctantly agreed to have a second operation of the same type … and, at the one-month check following that one, the same condition still showed. I’m told that 10% of the time it simply doesn’t work, and looks like I’m one of those. Not my preferred outcome, but could be much MUCH worse.

Other things going on, but I’ll address them a day at a time.
