Thirty-ninth day in China – July 29 Tuesday

It was after 9:00AM that I got up; Susan was awake, but reading in her bed, and soon went back to sleep.

By the time she finally got up, it was late enough that she was surprised when lunchtime came so ‘early’. I went down to 7‑Eleven to pick up something for us … but there were so many people stacked up at the counter for lunch rush, I just didn’t feel like dealing with it. (Same for McDonald’s.)

Later, when there had been time for things to slow down, Susan and I went down to the tea-shop-that-we’d-thought-was-a-restaurant, and got enough to carry us for lunch.

I’d done some further editing and filling-in on Amber’s birthday fic, and updated the file online (unavailable for viewing except by me and Kevin). I called to remind him about getting his feedback, and he said he’d look to that.

There had been indications that we might get rain, perhaps even thunderstorms, but those had been showing less and less probability. Susan and I decided to take our chances, and started off at 6:00PM with just a single umbrella. Arrived without any problems.

Dinner with the Yins, and settled in to wait for Kevin. Amber showed up, and she and Susan started watching the 2021 Home Sweet Home Alone. Kevin likewise arrived and settled in for his meal; after the movie was over, he walked Susan and me out to the gate, but there was no mention of his having read the story I posted.

Okay. Still two days to go, technically three.

Back at the apartment, Susan and I read and watched video. Nothing to prevent us from making it to bed by midnight.
